Team BRM Cool Drive Distribution driver Simon Fallon will return to the streets of the Gold Coast from October 20, hoping to emulate his victory in last year's Australian F4 championship at the venue.

Fallon claimed his first national Australian F4 championship race on the demanding street circuit as a support to the V8 Supercars in front of thousands of spectators and a national TV audience.

With a win this year at Australia's fastest circuit, Phillip Island, the 17 year old can take plenty of confidence in the final round of the season as a former winner here.

Following victory at the last round at Phillip Island for Cool Drive Distribution BRM driver Simon Fallon, Queensland Raceway will play host to Round Five of the 2017 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship supporting the Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint V8 Supercars event.

“I’m really keen to jump back into the car after the long break, but pretty keen to get the season back underway,” Fallon said.

“The track at Queensland Raceway is pretty fun but unfortunately it is a very hard track to overtake, so qualifying will be key.”

In a weekend of many firsts, Team BRM’s Simon Fallon has won his first career CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship round today at Phillip Island.

In a frantic third and final race on Sunday afternoon, Fallon climbed as high as second place after a safety car period and rain bunched the field in the Sunday finale at the Shannons Nationals.

Liam Lawson had crossed the chequered flag first in Race Three, but was deemed to have overtaken during the safety car period and dropped to seventh – which then promoted Fallon as race winner.

The CAMS Foundation has confirmed the four young Australian drivers that will become part of the CAMS Foundation Rising Star program in 2017.

Circuit racers Simon Fallon and Cameron Shields have been selected as the programme’s elite drivers, with Zane Morse and Ryan Suhle as the Rising Star’s karting graduates.

CAMS Foundation Chairman, Valentina Stojanovska said “The CAMS Foundation has a great tradition in aiding the pathway for Australia’s next generation of elite motor sport drivers.”

Cool Drive Distribution DREAM Motorsport driver Simon Fallon has taken out his first Australian F4 championship race win on the streets of the Gold Coast during the Gold Coast 600 weekend.

With Fallon starting the race from the U Race It Pole Position alongside Nick Rowe, the young Victorian launched off the start line and lead the race until crossing the chequered flag.

“It was really good, especially winning at a track like the Gold Coast. We only had one practice session, and it’s a really good feeling,” Fallon said.

“It was an awesome effort by Harry [Hayek] in those last couple of laps. I managed to hold on under Safety Car, but it was a really good race.

DREAM Motorsport driver Simon Fallon will aim for Rookie of the Year honours this weekend on the streets of the Gold Coast in Queensland.

After starting the year in April at Tasmania’s Symmons Plains, the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship arrives to its final round of the 2016 season around the narrow streets of the Gold Coast. Supporting the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, three races await our field of drivers.

In the Burson Auto Parts Rookie of the Year standings, Josh Denton (Team BRM) has a 16-point lead over Jack Smith (AGI Sport/SCT Logistics) and is a further 26 points ahead of Simon Fallon (DREAM Motorsport/CoolDrive) and Tyler Everingham (JRD/Sidchrome) – with Fallon and Everingham presently tied on 93 points each.

Cool Drive Distribution Dream Motorsport driver Simon Fallon has come through a successful Round 5 of the Australian Formula 4 championships at Sandown, gaining valuable experience, adding more points and building on his season.

After initially qualifying 7th on Friday, Race 1 saw him move up to 6th place, Race 2 produced a solid 7th and Race 3 saw Simon consolidate that again with 7th place, to finish the weekend with 20 points from the round.

“At least we found some pace!” Fallon said.

“Had a bit of fun out there still. This year’s all about experience, it doesn’t matter too much we’ll take it as a positive and move on.”

Simon's team, 'DREAM Motorsport' completed the test day at Sandown in variable weather conditions, running all 3 DREAM team drivers, across 2 categories.

Regular team drivers Simon and team mate Josh Conroy conducted a solid day of testing at the wheel of their respective CAMS Jayco Formula 4 machinery.
